I've always thought it exclusive for specific denominations to have a lock on the concept of ministry and the respective privileges associated with it. Open Ministry is the ideal answer. I have found the chance to help others at a time of joy and celebration without the encumbrance of parochial viewpoints to be rewarding. I've never understood why some believe theirs is the only path to bring comfort or happiness through rites and rituals. They punctuate our lives and give meaning to beginnings and endings; and, these rites and rituals are most meaningful when defined by those participating in them.
